196X Maritsa 12 Serial # 12127513 196X Maritsa 12 typewriter, Serial # 12127513 Pekka Sallinen's 196X Maritsa 12 typewriter. 2024-02-22 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Pekka Sallinen: 196X Maritsa 12 Serial # 12127513 UPDATE: got the thing working, just needed to move one bar that had slipped off position. This thing seems really fragile, and some springs may just hop off by accident if you are not careful. Again, I would not recommend paying any money for this, but it is a working toy and a funny thing to have, and the case looks nice. It is not a quality instrument, but I do like having it.

Maritsa 12 with pre-1976 Finnish keyboard. Not in working condition, rusty parts, and I could only get a few keys to hit paper and space bar didnā€™t work at all.

This machine is all metal and reminds me of Soviet tin toys from late 1970's we used to have (my great-aunt was some sort of communist and brought them from USSR), being somewhat wobbly and clunky. I might try to fix this one just for the fun of it, but would not recommend buying this one for anything serious. It looks quite good tough, copying looks of some Olivetti models. But the looks are deceiving and internal parts are frail and apparently rust easily.

The brown carrying case is quite nice looking, just like the one on the other gallery there is about Maritsa 12 but brown. I might add more pics later.
