196X Andina Grafos Serial # D9762 196X Andina Grafos typewriter, Serial # D9762 Javier Vazquez del Olmo's 196X Andina Grafos typewriter. 2015-06-25 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Javier Vazquez del Olmo: 196X Andina Grafos Serial # D9762 I guess I have to thank Richard Polt for sparking my interest in all the Talleres Alonso family of typewriters.

And here it is, a good example of Spanish design which, at the time of the manufacturing of this machine, was extremely poor. This is a nice exception of attractive design and durability. The clear ribbon spools and paper holder are great details! Regardind the serial number, the first figure is supposed to be a D according to other serial numbers, but in this specimen looks like they´ve punched a D and a 9 together.

But the best thing about this thipewriter is the script typeface. I got it from a good seller I know, but what I didn´t expect was it to be my first script typewriter! After 83 typewriters! Yeah!

The first typewriter I saw was my grandpa´s Olivetti Linea 98 at the office. It was just a curio for me. Then I was given a Nakajima, which I didn´t use and my grandfather took it from me because it was easier to handle than the bulky Linea 98. Now I own that typewriter, and I started a little collection in Valladolid, Spain. The Nakajima, which is "my" typewriter only returned home in 2017, almost 20 years later, when he wanted a better typewriter.

A collection that started small grew into something bigger, a nuisace for my family and a great source of satisfaction for me.
