Description:
A typewriter that I cleaned and made minor repairs. Not sure how portable this typewriter really is because it is very heavy and come in a very large case! The typeface sample references a Consul brand which I understand were the original design from Czechoslovakia. After I returned the typewriter to its owner, I found out that the correct name is a Speedwriter Cavalier.

I bought a typewriter for the sole purpose of journaling and writing with no thought given to working on them as a hobby. On a whim, I purchased a second typewriter, which I knew needed some cleaning and adjustment. I discovered that this exercise took me back to simpler times when I maintained electromechanical switching equipment in my early days of telephony.
Typewriters: a collection of complex Rube Goldberg contraptions that collectively perform a simple function, to put ink to paper. How wonderful is that?
