1969 Optima Model 43 Serial # 4415645 1969 Optima Model 43 typewriter, Serial # 4415645 Kewin Sanfridsson's 1969 Optima Model 43 typewriter. 2022-12-01 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Kewin Sanfridsson: 1969 Optima Model 43 Serial # 4415645 Here we a got a Optima (Erika) Model 43 from 1969 and it's yet another German typewriter, I don't know about the rest of the world but here in Sweden we got quite alot of typewriters which originate from Germany. Anyways, I was unsure if I wanted to buy this typewriter for quite a while because I did not enjoy the look at all of it but today I decided to finally buy it anyways. I cannot say how pleased I am to have picked this one up! It feels amazing to wright on. It does not look all that great to me but the writing experience more than enough makes up for that. Something quite cool about this typewriter is also the ribbon selection ability with a choice of blue, green and red. I really gotta try one of those ribbons some day it looks interesting.

But what's good often comes with the bad as well and in this case (sorry for the pun) it is the keys for the case are missing and the plastic where the look should go through is damaged as well as one of the see-through platen plates? are broken off. (Shown in one of the pictures) But it's from 1969 and it's made out of plastic, I am just happy that the case is still there and intact.

I hope I archived it right because this one was abit hard to try to figure out what model it was but I think it is right.

Hi my name is Kewin and I'm a 23 years old from Sweden. I have a few hobbies like drawing and playing guitar but I do also like myself some project here and there which is where my interest in typewriters fits in. I have always collected things through my life but I did not expect typewriters to be my next big passion in collecting. I started collecting typewriters in the beginning of 2022 and so far I have 52 of them (3 of which is currently disassembled) . I find it really enjoyable to pickup a typewriter at a thrift store/second hand and starting to clean it up and get it to a working condition to the best of my ability and knowledge. (Excuse all the dog hairs in my pictures, I do actually try to remove the hair before taking the pictures. xD) Cheers!
