Description:
Was found in a second hand shop for a good price, kept it for a few years but was never likely to use it and it was just taking space so after a few relistings it finally sold.
I cannot determine where, or when it was produced but I understand the 'S' to be the second run of production, possibly Spain?. Originally the carry-handle was missing so I visited a bag & shoe repair shop where a rummage through a box of handles found a good sturdy substitute which was easily fitted. The machine was also missing the original orange ribbon spool holders but those are gold so I simply used normal Lettera holders. Function over form. The front support was undamaged which apparently is a common weak-point on these but the outer case was a slightly bowed and the top cover lightly scratched from the case, another common issue it seems. It was fun to have but more fun to see go to a new home.

Many hobbies, IBM Selectric Typewriters is one of them. Ex IBM Customer Engineer based in Wellington, New Zealand, 47 years Selectric experience. Active on the GolfballTypewriterShop on Facebook. After leaving IBM I worked for Triumph-Adler NZ for several years starting as a field engineer, moving up to Dealer Technical Support finally being conscripted into the National Service Manager role (I preferred being a tech) so I have a fondness for TA machines also.
