Description:
This model 1601 was manufactured (as far as I know) from late 1960's to early 1970's and resembles quite much the Facit 1610, but with a bit more old fashioned carrying case. The machine is mostly made of metal, only the case, bottom and some minor parts are made of plastics and maybe rubber. I have no information about serial numbers so exact manufacturing year is unknown.
This is a very small portable, one of the smallest I have seen, and still quite comfortable to write with in my opinion. These seem to have been quite popular in Finland - I have two, both with Swedish/Finnish keyboard layout, and they are fairly often available on sales sites. I have seen Turkish keyboard version in the Internet also, with model designation 1601TR.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Facit 1601 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Facit Serial Number page and the Facit 1601 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
