Description:
A Brother JP-1 variant, that appears to have been originally sold in the US by Montgomery Ward stores. As best I can tell this is one of the second generation JP1 typewriters - it has white keys, grey metal shell, matches everything I can see to be one of those, EXCEPT that it appears to have a 1980s-era Brother logo on it. Weird?

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Brother Echelon 88 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Brother Serial Number page and the Brother Echelon 88 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
