Description:
A machine from a country that does not exist anymore. How exciting! It's my first Consul and the first time I use a Consul in general. I found this cute 233 from 1967 at the flea market extremely filthy, with nothing working properly from the amount of dirt, broken paper rest and without carrying case. Decided to buy it and give it a try. Now it's clean (can do better, to be honest) and as usual, when dirt leaves, the typewriter starts working better and better. It types very nice now, to my surprise it is not very noisy and it is fun to use. The only problem it has now is that the carriage return lever is loose, "touching" the body sometimes. Other than that, I really enjoy this typewriter.

Writer and blogger from Athens, Greece. I own a small collection of typewriters, most of my machines are functional and I try to repair any with problems that keeps it from typing. For me, it is important for a typewriter not just to sit on a shelve for display, but to be able to type when I want to. On the links below you will find my blogs and social media profiles. Feel free to follow me and get in touch if you want. I am always happy to communicate :)
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Consul 233 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Consul Serial Number page and the Consul 233 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
