Description:
A couple of typewriters have been placed in the window at Alien Art Market and Gallery on Bathurst St, in Toronto. You get to tap away on two typewriters and enjoy the conversations held with the lively proprietor. I jump in there once in a while to type a line here and there for the fun of using typewriters.
This 1966 Smith Corona Sterling is a bit rough and some keys are broken but types quick. The 1950's versions seem to me to type much faster.

I purchased my first typewriter in 2000: Brother Pro-Line 707 built in 1969.
I wrote eight hours a day, seven days a week on that tiny machine. I wrote my first unpublished novel and hundreds of short stories on the Brother.
In 2020 I decided to purchase my second typewriter. At ten and counting, I still use and collect these amazing tools for writing.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Smith Corona Sterling on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Smith Corona Serial Number page and the Smith Corona Sterling By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
