Description:
Nameplate missing, have case and keys. Early 60s. Works great. The 5A Serial number points to a different model according to the database - not sure what's up with that.
Typeface Specimen:

I find it useful to type because I can't immediately erase and revise every sentence as it comes, my constant temptation on a computer - typing forces me to keep thinking forward. I enjoyed reconditioning a seized-up Facit TP1 with a quirky font, and since have collected a handful of typewriters - the most enjoyable for daily use so far is an Olympia SM9.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Smith Corona Sterling on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Smith Corona Serial Number page and the Smith Corona Sterling By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
