Description:
A Smith Corona 5LE variant that came out in 1964 and was discontinued by 1966 for the launch of the next generation of Medalist machines. The 1962 Electric 12 is same machine minus the paragraph tab and four color ribbon labels.
Touch and go as something was spilled into the top left corner and ran down into the left rear corner. The motor clutch was all rusted up. However, it all proved to be light surface rust that cleaned up with WD-40 (oh no).

Typewriters are the perfect blend of using one's technical skills, history and functional purpose. My goal is type tested machines. My interests are not isolated to any one area. For example, I am a big fan of Smith Corona electrics, mid century electrics and all things Royal.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Sears Medalist Electric 12 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Sears Serial Number page and the Sears Medalist Electric 12 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
