Description:
This Smith-Corona in Sears clothing has seen a few miles. Stuffed in the corner of its travel case was a receipt with the name of the person I bought the machine from on it. The thrift shop receipt showed that he had himself bought the machine used, in 1974, in Honolulu, Hawaii. He now lives in Toronto, Canada, which is where the machine currently resides.
There was one other thing about the receipt that struck me: Forty years ago he paid $15 for the typewriter, which was the exact amount he sold it to me for.
