1964 Hermes Baby Serial # 6041439 1964 Hermes Baby typewriter, Serial # 6041439 Mitchell Dayton's 1964 Hermes Baby typewriter. 2019-04-17 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Mitchell Dayton: 1964 Hermes Baby Serial # 6041439 I bought this Baby from SGW over a year ago, and it was a moldy disaster when I recieved it, as the original ribbon was practically growing mushrooms. I’ve had it sitting in my garage for over a year airing out, and just recently sat it outside in the sun to finish the de-stinking process. Just finished the cleaning, light oiling and reassembly process and I’m very happy to discover that this thing is in wonderful mechanical condition and types as well or better than my best Hermes Rockets/Babys in my collection. Bottom case and carrying lid/cover are a little battered and dinged but the body is still in decent shape. This one will be a daily driver for awhile I can tell.... 12.7cpi Elite.
