Description:
Starting out 2015 with the latest addition to my collection. This was a junker I was given I thought I'd use for parts, but it looked quite nice. Only one minor scratch in the right rear corner of the housing. But, and this was a big But. When the lock was released the carriage flew to the end of the line. Type slugs moved when keys were pressed. I wanted to repair it. Problem was it needed the escapement replaced. Well, 2 years later it is now a fine working typewriter. I really wanted another H3k. I wanted the typeface, Director Elite. Instead of using it for parts, like a few others, it was saved and is now a fine typewriter. Even though I prefer pica Director Elite is a nice clean font.

Among many interests I like typewriters.
I presently have over 90 in my collection. I am slowly getting them photographed and uploaded to this site.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Hermes 3000 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Hermes Serial Number page and the Hermes 3000 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
