Description:
This is definitely a typer that is shrouded in a mystery. The Condor name has been associated with Nippo Typewriter by some collectors; however, the factory quality control tag that came with this typewriter (and which matches its serial number) states that the machine was made by Toyo Business Machine Industrial Co. Ltd., which was based in Tokyo, Japan.
It's an interesting little machine, types fairly well, but its plastics have suffered over the years. It took a little work to turn this non-functioning machine into a fairly reliable typewriter, but it was worth the effort. The next step will be to improve its cosmetic appearance.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Toyo Condor on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Toyo Serial Number page and the Toyo Condor By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
