Description:
A ShopGoodwill acquisition. This machine should be labelled a Royal but there is absolutely no sign of the Royal badge ever being attached to the lid. Nonetheless, the model is listed as Royal, and the serial number is right for a Royal for 1963, not a Halberg or Traveller, so that's where I'm putting it. Basically a Royalite variation like so many others, it's not the most exciting typer but it's not bad either and it's durable. The case has an inscription inside that it was owned by a student who lived at "McMahon Hall", but no university listed - got it from the GW Olympics/Ranier Region in Washington state, so maybe UWashington? Standard pica typeface.

New collector with a penchant for offbeat models/brands and, conversely, the mundane models many overlook, if I have a personal connection or just find them interesting. Finding that collecting typewriters is like eating potato chips, you can't have just one! Also restorer of mechanical calcs, Vintage audio, and vintage computers.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal Traveler on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal Traveler By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
