Description:
Found this one at a thrift store on the cheap when that was still possible. I like the Chieftain/Skyriter as a travel typewriter, they are pretty indestructible the only negatives, besides the typical ultra portable issues, are that the ribbon direction lever is fighting against gravity in one direction and the carriage return lever is super small. Otherwise it's a pretty decent typewriter for short term use. The feed rollers need to be replaced and the platen is hard as a rock, but it's almost 60 years old so we'll give it some slack. Our nieces and nephews like banging away on it, which almost makes me feel bad for it. :)
