Purchased locally in mid-2019 Pretty bad dent on margin rack cover. I was able to straighten it out somewhat.

A novice collector and "restorer" from the Chicagoland area who is just fascinated with these machines. I'm particularly drawn to the portables of the 50's and 60's. Although we had a typewriter in the house growing up and used one all through school, I really got back into them fairly recently. However, I've had the Smith Corona Standard 8 since the mid-90's - so that is what I call the "first".
