Description:
While mechanically near-perfect, this $10 Quiet-Riter could be living on borrowed time. The plastic casing is ridiculously brittle, and it's fragile to the point that I broke off a large portion of the right side panel while removing it from the typewriter. The first picture is the broken wreck this machine was when I got it.
After an hour or so of work (not counting time to dry), it is back in (mostly) one piece with the help of some JP Weld. While I initially planned on giving this one away once I got it fixed, it's grown on me. I forgot how much I like Quiet-Riters, and aside from the casing the build quality is excellent for the era. This one may be a keeper, so long as it doesn't crumble into pieces again.
