Description:
I purchased this Lettera 22 from the original owner, who had bought it from Easton Typewriter Company to take to college with her at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. The owner was still living in Easton, PA, when I bought this from her (including the original case and manual), so I imagine it may never have left PA until I brought it home to VA! I can tell this typer was well loved, as the paint has worn off from years of probably being carried around campus and used for every assignment! I still need to clean it, so please excuse the dust.

I am a librarian, artist, writer, and co-author of the book Desegregation in Northern Virginia Libraries (The History Press, 2023). I am a columnist on the topic of library technology. If I'm working on a book or an article, I'm at the computer. However, I use my typewriters to make poems, type-doodles, art, and to write snail mail letters. Currently my collection is centered around midcentury models.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olivetti Lettera 22 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olivetti Serial Number page and the Olivetti Lettera 22 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
