Description:
Made in 1960 in Glasgow, Scotland. This salmon pink Olivetti was purchased from another typewriter collector. The information I have on the date it was made is from the seller and I trust their judgement. Olivetti Serial Numbers appear to be a complete disaster so no one really knows anything for sure on these things I think. This particular machine features Elite typeface, a British, Math keyboard and not a lot else. I really like this machine a lot. I wasn't very interested in the Olivetti machines at all until I got this Lettera 22. I bought it because it was salmon pink and I am attempting to come up with a complete collection of typewriters in their original pink paint, but this machine has now become my go to ultraportable. It makes me happy.

Iâve been collecting typewriters since 2019. I started with a Remington 5 Streamliner that I found in a local junk shop and from there, my love for these machines grew and grew. I now have far too many typewriters in my collection, assuming that you think there is such a thing.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olivetti Lettera 22 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olivetti Serial Number page and the Olivetti Lettera 22 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
