Description:
Paid way too much money for this Rocket from an online refurbisher. Cosmetic condition was excellent, but the mechanical restoration was half-hearted. You shouldn’t see oily eraser shavings all over the inside of your expensive restored typewriter, right? I took it upon myself to finish the cleaning and degreasing further and now this is the second nicest Rocket I own to type on. As much as I love Hermes machines, I can’t say I’m as big a fan of the mint green color they used in the 1960s. Has been treated to new platen rubber, feed rollers and bottom feet. 12.7cpi Elite -Update: April 27, 2022 this machine was adopted into the loving home of a good friend of mine, who is now a happy Hermes fan herself. :)

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Hermes Rocket on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Hermes Serial Number page and the Hermes Rocket By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
