Description:
I received this typewriter as a gift, and therefore I am quite attached to it, it was the first typewriter that I owned, and the first one that I ever tried to service.
Now I tend to use different machines, but it did serve me very well and I plan on using it more after a better clean and lubrication (my understanding of these machines improved since my first attempt), it is completely functional, anyway.

When I was a child, I used to write with my grandfather's Olympia Portable, and I would feel as if any fantasy would come true if written by such a powerful instrument; remarkably, being the early 2000s, I had never seen anyone use a typewriter seriously at that point, but the object would still strike me for its apparent unlimited potential.
To this day, I like using my typewriters (that are a few) from time to time, and to feel the satisfaction of a precise and powerful machine at my fingertips; sadly, I can't write as much as I would like, but when I use a typewriter I just enjoy it more.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olivetti Lettera 22 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olivetti Serial Number page and the Olivetti Lettera 22 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
