Description:
My first typewriter purchase from an antique shop. I chose this over a Series 5 Sterling because it had the 'extra' key with the exclamation mark. I've come a long way since... ;)

I bought a typewriter for the sole purpose of journaling and writing with no thought given to working on them as a hobby. On a whim, I purchased a second typewriter, which I knew needed some cleaning and adjustment. I discovered that this exercise took me back to simpler times when I maintained electromechanical switching equipment in my early days of telephony.
Typewriters: a collection of complex Rube Goldberg contraptions that collectively perform a simple function, to put ink to paper. How wonderful is that?
