Description:
Here's a fascinating 1959 Royal FPS: "S" denoting special order--in this case, because of the elite semi-gothic typeface. This machine was in really rough shape when I got it in Penndel, PA, in February of 2023 (see "before" pics by the CSN railway). It took quite a thorough cleaning and de-mucking to get it working the way it should. The FPS has a very cool aesthetic, and after writing up a bunch of valentines on it, I'm really pleased with the typeface and the written product.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal FP on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal FP By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
