Description:
I got this green 1959 Olympia SM-3 from a seller in Bristol, PA in August of 2022. It was a dirty mess when I got it, from the nephew of the original owner, who suspected his uncle was a spy. He was secretive and spoke a half-dozen East European languages while deployed in West Berlin, while his formal job title was Head Translator for the Department of Agriculture. He also etched his name on the machine and on a paper inside the case.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olympia SM3 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olympia Serial Number page and the Olympia SM3 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
