Description:
A horrid machine when directly compared to what Smith-Corona and Olympia were producing at the same time. These photos should be considered 'public enemy number one' mug shots.
Underwood really dropped the ball with this model and it was probably just as well that Olivetti soon after took control. A vague type action tops the list of misdemeanors, but there are plenty of other things to criticize as well. For example, its Quiet Tab moniker is perplexing: Neither its tabulator function nor its type action could ever qualify as being quiet. That Underwood would use the description Golden Touch to describe such a disappointing type action is just comical.
