Description:
My first typewriter, purchased as a personal xmas gift for $50. I had always wanted a typewriter, and thought having 1 was all I needed. It works perfectly except for a stuck margin release. I never thought of taking it apart to clean or tinker with it, believing I would end up breaking it.
I then found "The Typewriter Revolution" this last February (2017) and realized how robust these machines are. After refurbing Walter I took Chauncey, this one, apart to clean. The margin release is still stuck.
All around a very decent beginner's machine, but no longer my go-to. Chauncey will forever be my first young love.

Small time collector working on skills as a hobbyist repair technician. Mostly a writer with a hatred for computer word processing programs. I think I have found my Eleanor, but I keep looking and giving away my machines until I have just the right one. Plus I love working on and cleaning these amazing machines.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal Royalite on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal Royalite By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
