1958 Imperial Good Companion 4 Serial # 4U 607 1958 Imperial Good Companion 4 typewriter, Serial # 4U 607 Darren Woolvin's 1958 Imperial Good Companion 4 typewriter. 2024-08-27 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Darren Woolvin: 1958 Imperial Good Companion 4 Serial # 4U 607 Very nice and snappy typewriter. My favourite to do any typeing on, although i haven't typed on many typewriters. A few chips here and there but overall its in good condition for its age. Feet were knackered so i replaced the original ones with replacment rubber ones. The original ones basically crumbled to dust as i removed them. So much better with new feet.

I picked up a couple of typewriters for display and use for the public at events where a police station is set up. The few i have are all Imperial Good Companions. Learnt to type on a manual typewriter, then on an electric one while in comprehensive but have completly forgotten how to touch type. Although pecking at the keys is more in keeping with a station.
