Description:
Spotted at MTE, a very late-model Halda, serial number near the end of production. Might explain why the manual has "Facit" all over it and sports the "Facit Dunce" character. The carrying case is a marvel of engineering. Machine has one large rubber foot as in most Facits.
Lots of interesting ephemera in the case, including a 1961 receipt for service and ribbon replacement and a large cardboard "visor" that inserts into the ribbon cover to hide the keyboard for touch-typing training. The manual covers the training course.
Condition: typebasket completely frozen (prolly someone WD-40'd it) and a few odd bits were lying in the case. Doesn't really look like they belong to the machine. The case key is engraved "IKA" (the case manufacturer?)

I am a scoundrel without a cause, and my swank outshines the sun.
I am a casual Typewriter Hunter residing in the sweltering deserts of Arizona with a wife, three cats and about 50 typewriters. My main hunting ground is thrift stores, and I rarely pay more than $10 for a machine. My collection consists mainly of portables with cases, and they stay in the cases unless I am actively using it (usually more than one at a time). I do, however keep a handful of interesting Selectrics, including a Composer and a couple of large Nakajima Electronics to use as daisywheel printers for my vintage laptop collection.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Halda P on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Halda Serial Number page and the Halda P By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
