1957 Royal FP Serial # FPE16-6369743 1957 Royal FP typewriter, Serial # FPE16-6369743 Andrew Nold's 1957 Royal FP typewriter. 2022-09-24 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Andrew Nold: 1957 Royal FP Serial # FPE16-6369743 Wonderful workhorse machine, although seems to need tuning of spring fairly often. The first typewriter I ever purchased. "Made in Canada" sticker on the back of machine. Removable side panels and spring assisted front cover, but servicing parts can still be a fuss. "Magic Margin" function only works some of the time. Compatible with colored ribbon. Missing two keys when I purchased it, and I had to 3D print replacement parts. Overall, wonderful machine.

View of type bars, and ribbon. To open the front cover, the "Royal" logo on the front of the typewriter must be pressed. That took me a while to figure out.

The list of patents was interesting to me. Nice shiny silver finish on the text.

Line spacing selector switch was oddly pleasing.

Left side access door. Both sides of the typewriter had removable access doors that only seemed to provide somewhat improved access.
