Description:
An absolutely gorgeous typewriter. Most P-1s I've seen are in a grey frame with brown keys. I'd been holding out for this rarer all-black version for a while and was thrilled to finally discover this one, which was in an excellent condition. It's nifty typewriter and has a pleasant touch. The only major irritation is the lack of a paper support.
I noticed two unsual aspects of this model: the lack of a left carriage knob and the presence of a dedicated "0" key next to the "9" key. Not sure why Optima made these two decisions. The lack of a carriage knob might have been a cost-saving measure. The "0" key is harder to explain. I can't recall ever having a problem using the "O" key to type "0" on all of the other typewriters I've used.
