This typewriter was sold to me without the ribbon cover, just like the one featured in the movie "The Lives Of Others"*
I managed to find the DVD the same day I bought the typewriter... The movie makes missing the hood a little easier to take...
*Won the Academy Award in 2006 for "Best Foreign Language Film". (see last image)
