Description:
Perhaps the best print quality of any typewriter I've seen, even with the rock-hard platen it had. Despite the fantastic type action and the excellent print quality and overall user comfort, I ended up giving it away for two reasons: the sound was too loud to use the machine without recovering the platen first, and while I could have done this at a fairly reasonable price, the fact that the keyboard didn't have the apostrophe (') symbol was a fatal flaw for me. This is common for Finnish pre-1960s keyboards, and one of the reasons I've sold most of my pre-60s machines (the Lettera 22 is one exception). I can replace the apostrophe with the acute accent, but it's not an ideal solution, and it would also mean that any exclamation marks would have to be made with a pencil. These issues combined with the large size of the machine meant I could not justify keeping it.

I have been looking for ways to spend less time on electronic devices, and because of this I started doing my writing and translation work with pens and pencils, and now on typewriters as well. I have noticed that adding typewriters to the process has been beneficial to the quality of the text, plus it's just more fun this way.
I have started selling and giving away some of my machines now that I have figured out which ones I want to keep. Some people have asked me for working typewriters, so I have been on the lookout for machines purely for that purpose as well. As fun and instructive as it has been, soon it is time to finish this collecting and tinkering and move back to my original intention: writing. I hope.
