Description:
Pica; acquired winter 2017.
While not my first typewriter, this was the machine that gave me "the bug." A freebie estate sale find, this machine really introduced me to the world of typewriters. It gave me my first experience cleaning up a typewriter, as well as my first (unsuccessful) repair job.
This machine didn't stay very long in my possession; I had pretty quickly set my heart on getting another, older typewriter and had to make space for it. I gifted this to a relative in the summer of 2017. As I recall, it had a problem with intermittent skipping. I couldn't fix it at the time, but a few years later, I had it sorted out.
Photos and type sample are from 2017.

Been enjoying the hobby since 2015; finally getting around to sharing my collection digitally. I only keep the typewriters I use and enjoy the most, so check out my sightings to see all the machines that came and went.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Remington Quiet-Riter on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Remington Serial Number page and the Remington Quiet-Riter By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
