Description:
Made in Ivrea, Italy
This is a QWERTY keyboard with accent keys necessary to write in French (thus likely a French-Candian keyboard or a keyboard made for the UK market). Purchased from a seller in the UK.
NOTE: Not an embossed "Olivetti" on the paper plate, as might be possible with the very earliest models, though it does feature round keys, thus, likely produced sometime in the 1950s, though of course it's difficult to know exactly with the L22s. 1956 is my best guess given the data.

I work on Olivettis, mostly my ICO at home, though I have a couple of L32s with one in Arabic that I break out occasionally. I usually find typewriters that need some refurbishing at the markets around here, refurbish them, and give them to writer-friends as presents. Currently living in Paris.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olivetti Lettera 22 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olivetti Serial Number page and the Olivetti Lettera 22 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
