Description:
Olivetti Lettera 22 (1956). I love typing on my Olivetti Lettera 32, so of course immediately began the hunt to find it's older brother, the Lettera 22. I bought this machine on eBay recently and it didn't disappoint. The machine is in great working and cosmetic condition.
I enjoy having the option to change the typing feel, via a lever located on the left side of the machine under the cover. Not sure why this was removed from the 33, DL, etc. The case is also unique (for Olivetti), as it doesn't feature a centered stripe. That wasn't introduced until later models.

I'm a software engineer in the Chicagoland area. I've been collecting "vintage" vinyl, computers, mechanical keyboards and typewriters since I was a kid. Born into an analog world, but grew up in a digital one.
My wife is a writer and I enjoy problem solving and puzzles, so naturally fixing I fell in love with fixing and maintaining typewriters and she then gets to enjoy all of these machines!
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olivetti Lettera 22 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olivetti Serial Number page and the Olivetti Lettera 22 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
