Description:
This machine was found at an antique mall that I frequent, and having not used or already acquired an example of this model, I bought it.
It was originally taupe, and in a rather sad state of decay, although it did work quite well and did not require anything further than a good cleaning. As such, I felt that it would do well with a new colour scheme, and went with bright orange.
I cannot say that I have been overly impressed with Olivetti machines. Some praise them, but I've yet to come across one that I like and would recommend. This is probably the closest to being one of the Olivettis I like, though the familiar spongy feel that they tend to have is present, if in a lesser form.
On top of this, I admire the design a little more than with later machines by this maker. There was a lot of effort taken to make it good, and I understand why there is a cult following for these. Just, to me, there are better machines, at least for me. That's the beauty of all this; typewriters are artistic tools now, and all of them cater to different people looking for different things.

This gallery represents the machines owned by good friends Dirk Plante and Sean Doole, who reside in British Columbia, Canada. Together they have established Venneburg Typewriters, a partnership that to date has seen over 400 typewriters since 2009. Here you will find the machines that are currently still in possession or that have come and gone since December 2017.
***As of July 2020, this collection now also represents pieces from the collection of Troy Krahn!
