Description:
I was so excited to see this machine turn up in a local thrift store. I bought it and put it on the bench to find the escapement and segment both seized completely, and all the springs rusted out underneath. I managed to get it moving, but then springs began popping from the corrosion. For now, it sits to the side, cleaned up but in need of a lot of work to get back up and running.
Update: I have changed the status to 'Offering Parts'. I just don't feel I can get this one back to working order, so if you're looking for parts from a Super, let me know.

I have been collecting typewriters all my life, starting with a 1980's Brother Charger 11 (which I no longer have, but have replaced with an identical machine). I have well over 60 typewriters now, with a few rare portables. Some are interesting or odd, but most of mine are common machines.
My wife and I have made a deal, that I can keep buying typewriters if she can keep buying shoes. Fair enough! *shrugs*
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Smith Corona Super on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Smith Corona Serial Number page and the Smith Corona Super By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
