Description:
Purchased, and received 03/12/2026, from eBay to fulfill my need for a quiet ultra-portable.
Multiple typebars were maligned, I got them printing well enough -- though, the capitals/shifted characters still look quite rough.
As well, it is missing the part which engages the platen ratchet mechanism from the platen knobs, but, at least, the carriage return lever advances the ratchet properly. I plan to attempt the design and 3D printing of a replacement part.

Hobbyist of far too many things, but, most recently, typewriters. I presently have 5:
- a Smith Corona Galaxie,
- an Olivetti Underwood 21,
- a Smith Corona Corona Seventy (electric),
- a Royal KMG,
- a Smith Corona Super Sterling,
- and a Smith Corona Skyriter.
I hope to curb over-collection -- fortunately, I have found all typewriters that I need to fulfill my needs. (Though, I am not certain that will stop me from haphazardly purchasing more.)
I have a far too neglected website at https://ashavedbear.dev which is hosted by Neocities. I hope to return to regular updates to it, but I often fail to find the time for all of my hobbies.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Smith Corona Skyriter on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Smith Corona Serial Number page and the Smith Corona Skyriter By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
