Description:
I found this typewriter locally from a guy who won a bid on a storage locker. He knew nothing about typewriters, but agreed on a meet-up an a $20 price. Machine was filthy, but serviceable. Had probably sat in its case in storage for years, if not decades. Came with the original metal spools and a serviceable ribbon, which I will replace. After a light blow-out and cleaning, it actually types fairly well. The Senior Companion was aimed at high school students, so lacks a few of the features from the Quiet De Luxe. Machine had the typical white "bloom" or efflorescence on the keys seen in many machines from the 1950's. I polished it off with citrus-based Goof-Off . This is my second Senior Companion.

Retired industrial designer, now serving as a pastor. I have a collection of about 75 machines. I specialize in portables, and have only a few electric machines. In my opinion, typewriters and bicycles are the best examples of the man-machine interface. I live in SW Washington State, USA.
