This is my 1953 Royal Quiet De Luxe named “Dale”. This was the first typewriter where I had to do more than just a cleaning and some troubleshooting to get it operating. I named this typewriter “Dale” because it was made in 1953, the year my grandmother was born and her name is Dale

Hi! I’m Ryan and I’m rather a novice when it comes to typewriter collecting. I have been interested in typewriters since I was in my early teens. My collection first started with a 1949 Smith Corona Silent my grandfather got me for $5 from a yard sale. I recently added a 1982 Sears The Electric 2 to my collection. My next find was a 1949 Underwood Universal, and my latest find is a 1953 Royal Quiet De Luxe.
