Description:
Impulse buy! Fourth typewriter, the collecting bug has set in. And so did buyer's remorse, for a bit. When I got this beast home, enamoured by the huge carriage size, I began to realize I didn't "need" it. But, I persevered, took him apart and got all the rust removed, and he is a perfectly working mule or donkey now. And I love him.
I do call him Donkey because of the grey paint.
With the 15" platen and the smaller Elite typeface, I use Donkey to type on 11x17 paper, which is really fun. This one came with no spools, but I easily found a matching ribbon on Amazon that work perfectly.
I have now learned to pick my typers very carefully and not get overpowered by the hunter's high.

Small time collector working on skills as a hobbyist repair technician. Mostly a writer with a hatred for computer word processing programs. I think I have found my Eleanor, but I keep looking and giving away my machines until I have just the right one. Plus I love working on and cleaning these amazing machines.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal HH on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal HH By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
