1953 Remington Super-Riter Serial # J2361812 1953 Remington Super-Riter typewriter, Serial # J2361812 John Abbott's 1953 Remington Super-Riter typewriter. 2020-04-30 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of John Abbott: 1953 Remington Super-Riter Serial # J2361812 1153. Picked up from Goodwill. Price was reasonable. I need to fix the carriage draw string. Other than that, it looks reasonable. The paint is rather dreary, so I may repaint it, or have my niece, who is an artist, paint it. It should be a good workhorse with a reasonable amount of work.

I started my collection back in 2017 when I found a 1993 Brother WP-1250, which was very close to the typewriter I owned and used to write letters home while I was stationed in Korea serving in the US Air Force (I later discovered it was most likely the Brother WP-1150, so I picked that up). In 2018, my wife took me to one of the local antique store and I saw an old typewriter that caught my eye. My wife purchased it for me for Christmas (a 1932 Royal 10). My wife and I decided to limit my collection to 5 typewriters, so I need to sell off my surplus.
