Description:
Although this typewriter is in good mechanical shape (and otherwise fair cosmetic shape), the 26 letter keys and the 9 key had an extremely hard, clear residue on them (see photo 6). It might have been a "superglue" used to cover the key labels for teaching. After several non-destructive chemicals failed, I finally got most of the residue off with 2500 grit sandpaper, but the keys will never look new.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olivetti Lettera 22 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olivetti Serial Number page and the Olivetti Lettera 22 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
