Description:
This is, for writing, a very satisfying typewriter to use. The 2000 is a very precise typer, and as the words appear on the page one feels like the slugs are actually attached to the ends of your fingertips. Its taut nature reminds me of typing with a '40s era Royal portable.
Hermes nailed the colour palette for this 2000. The deep hunter green case and rich brown trim creates an air of sophistication, and the Hermes would not be out of place in a nicely appointed office with wood paneling, heavy bookcases, and an antique desk.
Note the alpha and beta key between the fraction keys.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Hermes 2000 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Hermes Serial Number page and the Hermes 2000 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
