Description:
I travel a lot and loved the marketing around the Skyriter, so I knew I had to get one. I took a chance and bought it on eBay in early 2023. I replaced the felt inside, got a purple ribbon for it, and did some mechanical adjustments, and now it works well and it's my go-to portable for coffee shops and parks.

I am a computer systems engineer and author living in the San Francisco Bay Area. I began collecting typewriters in 2021 when I bought a 1938 L C Smith & Corona Super Speed at a garage sale and then took it to a local shop to be refurbished. I have a knack for the mechanical, so I transitioned to doing some repairs on my own.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Smith Corona Skyriter on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Smith Corona Serial Number page and the Smith Corona Skyriter By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
