Description:
To fix my favorite 1961 SC Skyriter, I broke down and purchased a parts machine. This is it. But I kind of like it...I took the part I needed then hacked a replacement for this machine...basically an M2 screw, nut, and nylon lock-nut. It actually works. So, I've been cleaning it and getting the formerly sticky A key unsticky. Just a few more tweaks, and it should work well.

I fell down the analog hobby rabbithole and have no intention of climbing out. As a child, I wrote my school research papers on the 1946 Smith-Corona Silent that my father used to get through law school. By the time I went to law school, new-fangled computers were all the rage. But I kept my dad's Smith-Corona. In the decades since, I've found a few other typewriters and use them to write fiction for fun and pose them with the film cameras to which I am hopelessly addicted.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Smith Corona Skyriter on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Smith Corona Serial Number page and the Smith Corona Skyriter By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
