Description:
This one was an eBay purchase. Fortunately the drab color kept the price to a usable range ($37 shipped). It's got the solid mid-century rounded shape bolstered by nice deep key caps.
A few surprises were, noticeably quiet typing, no paper guide, and hinged keeper on the ribbon vibrator making threading easy. It's got the old-school Remington ribbon design--as in bare hubs with a clip-on spool after your fingers are inked. The aftermarket ribbons are plastic finger-friendly spools. The machine had some cleaning trouble spots so it may not have a museum quality finish at this point but the chrome plating is bright and it's all intact.
The key action exudes precision: very little side-to-side or up-down play. The noise suppression makes for more of a pleasant rumbling sound. It is a joy to use.
