Description:

Another antique find in the wild, too expensive (and big) to bring home...
Update: The price came down, the beast came home... Now that I've had the opportunity to take better pictures, I'm noticing two decals on the front, "R.C. Allen" & "Tower" and the serial number starts with a "T" that makes me think it started out as a Sears "Tower"... It’s obvious that the "T" was added as an afterthought or later.

"I was born in a crossfire hurricane"...
A professor in college gave me the gift and appreciation of the letter form.
Typewriters are just little "print shops" for me.
I have an MFA in 3D Digital Sculpture.
I no longer mold young minds, by teaching art to high school students, everyday is a safari now...
In my spare time I own and operate an equal opportunity rescue shelter for all makes and models of typewriters that have been abandoned in the bottoms of closets.
No matter how many typewriters I am fortunate to be able to collect, my collection will not be as nice as Herman's...
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the R.C. Allen 600 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the R.C. Allen Serial Number page and the R.C. Allen 600 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
